Wow, the books are selling even better than when I last checked. This is even after canceled orders due to the back-ordered late shipping fiasco.

Funny you should say that; it hasn’t been getting much love at my local shop. Perhaps no one has been expecting it to arrive on time here in Canada?

I much prefer this explanation to the one I find more likely: that gamers in my town are even rarer than my darkest fears…

My FLGS said they got “800 pounds worth of 4e books” on wednesday.  A core set weighs eight pounds I believe.  They haven’t sold out yet, but a buddy said that the owner has already put in a second order.

thats funny i ordered mine last Sunday of this week and it showed up Friday afternoon.

at my local game shop it was not getting much love either, but the only had a few books left after game day.

I wonder how much of the non-love that the FLGS are seeing is because of Amazon.  My FLGS had 20% off today. If I had known they were doing that I would have bought from there instead of Amazon (sorry Jim:)). As it was I felt bad about 1) bringing in the PHB I bought from their competition (yea I have 2 RPG stores withing 15 minutes of me ) and 2) playing Game day and not buying anything. Oh well.:/

I didn’t buy from my FLGS for two reasons:
1) I wanted to support Dragon Avenue
2) I won a Amazon.com gift certificate here that I used for the purchase.

However, since Amazon can’t seem to think far enough ahead to order sufficient copies from the publisher to cover their pre-orders and their expected first week’s sales, I may be canceling that order to get my 4e books from my FLGS.

That’ll leave me with a nice Amazon.com gift certificate balance that I’ll probably use to round out my 3.5 collection, picking up used some of the books that I don’t have but still want.  Do you get a commission on those sales Jim?
