Mice and Gods - IC

In the beginning, the Five created it all. However, this story starts with the Six who were around long before the beginning. In this time, the Six were all and all were gods, but none knew one another.

When and how the Six came to be is a matter debated among scholars and drunkards; not many others tend to care. What matters is that they were. At some point, one of the Six uttered a word. The followers of each god provide reasonable claims that their patron was the architect and, of course, none can be verified beyond all doubt. It is claimed by some that, if a mortal were to rediscover this word and speak it, everything which exists would cease. When spoken by one of the Six, however, it was a sound which imparted awareness to the others.

Countless tales exist of divine exploits, schemes, alliances, and betrayals during this period. Most have elements of truth to them. Some are simply crafted to earn the teller a free meal. While diverse, they all hint at an underlying conflict simmering between the only beings who existed at the time. This conflict burst into a violent display when one of the Six was slain.

After the deathstroke was delivered, the body collapsed upon itself. The Sixth’s bones were ground down, the blood ran free, and the flesh became dust. When the transformation was complete, the Sixth was gone--replaced by a young world teeming with the remainder of the god’s essence.

One by one, the Five turned their attention to this new world.

...What happened to Conjurer’s Chess? Did it have to go on hold or did too many people lose interest and it just quit? Just curious cause I have seen very few posts on it in the last few weeks or so

For those of you that haven’t been paying attention, Cam and I have developed Power Cards, Character Cards, and Item Cards that allow a player to completely represent their character with a deck of cards. In addition, the Character and Power cards have options for the DM that allow for the representation of monsters and their powers. All three are done (barring any bugs that people find) and ready for download.

So now I’m trying to figure out if there is anything else that needs to be done to complete this project. There has already been a request for Trap/Hazard cards and I think that a set of Ritual cards would also be useful. Does anyone have any other requests for cards? Any suggestions for how a Trap/Hazard or Ritual card might be laid out?

Mice and Gods - OOC

Welcome to the OOC chat for Dragon Avenue’s first ever Dawn of Worlds game (as far as I know or care). For those of you unfamiliar with the system, you can find the rules online (pdf).

This is meant mostly to be an experiment with the DoW rules and for us to have fun. I don’t forsee us having any kind of disagreements that can’t be settled though simple talking, but if there is something that comes up, I reserve the right to throw out a ruling to settle matters. Again, none of us are dicks here so I think we’ll be fine.

The game will probably kick off sometime after this weekend once you guys get back from vacation and LANFESTs and all that other fun stuff people who aren’t me tend to do. I also still need to talk to our cartographer (you know who you are!) and work out exactly how we’re handling the mapping, but for now the blank canvas will reside in the first post of the IC thread.

That said, I look forward to playing. Game on!

3E—Hash’ilk’Khan, any advice please?

These guys are the antagonists of my next campaign in my Terra Nara setting.

Thirty thousand years ago the Hash’ilk’Khan were a powerful race who ruled much of their ruled world of Thong So with an iron fist. Their tyrannical rule came to and end with the war with another ancient magical race Via-Perm. The Hash’ilk’Khan were banished from that material plane to a shattered world of floating islands enveloped in a sea of red clouds that darken the sky and sun. Over the ages the Hash’ilk’Khan tried repeatedly to break the bonds of their prison but failed in every attempt, eventually the Via-Perm died out and the barriers that kept the Hash’ilk’Khan trapped weakened. They made one last attempt to invade Thong-So. They projected their spirits through the void and possessed the bodies of the dead, they tried raising a massive army of undead to cleanse the world and build great arcane machines to tear down the barriers from both sides. But in the end they were beaten, and the barriers around Thong So restored to full strength destroying any attempt at the Hash’ilk’Khan’s return to Thong So forever. But the Hash’ilk’Khan were not so easily vanquished, they projected their spirits into the void once again searching for new worlds to conquer. In Thirty thousand years they’ve never physically set foot upon another world… until now.
*In case you weren’t paying attention they’ve only managed to invade Thong-So by possessing bodies
*Hash’ilk’Khan are considered native to their prison plane which is an alternate material plane. So they are Infact both native and extraplanar outsiders.

Feats: Empower SLA:(Enervation)(b), Spell Fire(b) Empower Spell, Silent Spell, Spell Penetration,
Quicken Spell, Rapid Metamagic, Easy Metamagic: Quicken Spell.
Challenge Rating: 12
Alignment: Usually Lawful Evil,
Treasure: Half gold,
Level Adjustment: You’ve got to be kidding me.
Advancement: By Character Class.

The Hash’ilk’Khan appear as tall slender humanoids. However their flesh is warped and their are elongated into claw, Their head is crowned with a boney a frill. Bah, I found the picture online and it works perfectly. The Hash’ilk’Khan are creatures of magic whose angelic forms long ago twisted due to exposure to the shattered world that has been there home and prison for the past thirty thousand years.

Spell-Like-Abilities: Caster Level 12+one half class level.
3/day;-Enervation, Fear, Greater Dispel Magic, Fly, Invisibility, Magic Circle Against Good. 1/day, Planeshift, Cloudkill

Spell Casting: Hash’ilk’Khan cast spells as 12th level sorcerers.

A few rare Hash’ilk’Khan cast divine spells instead following the spell casting rules progression of a favored soul instead. They can not actualy advance in the class as the race shuns all deities but they can take levels in “sorcerer” to progress there divine spell castaing.
*Basically a more pure divine sorcerer.

Spell Fire: Hash’ilk’Khan possess innate abilities of spell fire. See Forgotten Realms campaign setting for details.

Magic Rejuvination: Hash’ilk’Khan can channel magic absorbed through spellfire to recharge there spell slots exactly as a rod of absorption does.

Superior low-light vision: A Hash’ilk’Khan can see five times as far as a human can in dim light, which aids them in the dim but eternal light that cloaks the shattered world prison.

Immortality: When slain outside of their prison a Hash’ilk’Khan spirit is dragged back through the void where it rejuvenates a new body. It takes months for this process to complete its self but it effectively.

Spell Resistance: 12+Hit Dice, Hash’ilk’Khan are resistance to spells.
Hash’ilk’Khan Height and Weight
Male: 4’10, +4d6, 100lbs x(2d4)lbs

Middle Age 350 Years
Old Age 530 Years
Venerable 700 Years
Maximum Age 4d%% Years

So yes ten times the life span of humans.

I’m looking for any advice at all to improve or refine these beings, And any suggestions of converting to 4e will be met with a PM of a bunch of swear words repeated again and again. My group is happy with 3e and unhappy with 4e nothing more need be said on that subject.
