Does anyone know if a symbol font has been created for the D&D Miniatures set symbols? I’ve done a search, but either my Google-fu us weak or there isn’t one out there.
I haven’t found one. But you could check at the sourceforge site for Magic Set Editor. I think that might be your best bet. If all else fails, hen I get home from vacation in a couple weeks, I might be able to make one.
Still haven’t found one. If you’re up for making one that’s cool. In the mean time, I’m using the JPEGs from WotCs site which I converted to GIFs and made the white space transparent. I’m just using them in a spreadsheet I use to keep track of my D&D Miniatures. Can’t put picutures in cells though, so a font would still be nice.
So your saying that you are trying to get a picture INSIDE of a cell, not just on the spreadsheet?
I will look later but maybe if you you make a cell larger it could hold one? I will look around at some help menus, because i am not sure how you could do that
I appreciate your help, but I know already that it is not possible to put the picture in the cell. It is only possible to have it over the cell, and appear to be in the cell. That’s why I was looking for a font, because I could type the character into the cell and align and distribute it in relation to the cell borders. Currently I have to eyeball it with the pictures.
I am working on a similar (more in depth) version of my own minis. I actually listed each mini and listed the quantity and then totaled each. I would love a symbol font as well for the same reason.
Judging by the tabs at the bottom of Kalex’s spreadsheet, he’s doing the same.
It seemed like he was just counting the total he has of each set, instead of how many of each individual mini. I see the tabs now though. I would love for a template to be posted for when I’m done counting. It might be a while though, since I have what seems like a metric ton of minis.
Well, you have officially reminded me that I have too many D&D related projects going on at a time. I currently am trying to finalize power cards, plan a campaign, organize/count my minis, finish my list of names and any other project that I am forgetting.
The good news is that tonight I finished a few trays of minis (I broke the 1000 mark for categorized minis). I am about half done with the medium sized trays (although the remaining trays probably have more in them). After those I will move onto my large and bigger sized minis. I also formatted my pages similar to Kalex, which makes entering them more efficient. The thing that is slow, is that I am also hand writing a page for each tray that says whats in it...I figure it will help keep me organized.
As a note with yours, a few things that might help:
-Demon Web is the next set, but as far as I know no set image is out yet.
-I hyperlinked each set name on the front page to the corresponding page and then put a main page hyperlink at both the top and bottom of each set page.
Judging by the tabs at the bottom of Kalex’s spreadsheet, he’s doing the same.
Correct. What you see there is the first worksheet of 17. The other 16 are set oriented and list each of the models available by set. I enter how many (or the Quantity) of each model I own on the set worksheet and total those numbers at the bottom. That total is carried over to the worksheet you see in the screen shot and all the sets are totaled for a grand total of all the D&D Miniatures I own.
Next I have to organize the actual figures into containers by set. I did that once before when originally putting this spreadsheet together over a year ago, but the other DM in my group fouled them all up during a campaign I didn’t play in. Beatings will ensue.
The problem with a font is that it would need to be updated every six months or so when WotC puts out a new set. As long as who ever creates the font doesn’t have a problem with doing that I think such a font could be fairly useful. If I knew how to create a font myself I’d probably give it a try, but I don’t and I’ve got too many irons in the fire at this point anyway. If Cameron still wants to give this a try in a few weeks, I would be grateful.
