I use the other side of the counter for the bloddy. that’s the purpose of the trasparency.
I make towo versions of the kobold, stick ‘em on both sides of the counter, but one has the bloody overlay on it already printed on. its not a separate element.
I REALLY like this idea. You don’t have to worry about random miniatures or flimsy paper cut outs (though someone’s idea of having miniatures for PCs is good because it makes them distinguishable from the monsters, even though tokens for those would be cool too)
I may be a little behind the times, but I just discovered the TokenTool by RPTools.net. It’s a simple clipping type application that you can use to “cut out” tokens from larger images. It has a variety of cool borders as well.
I attached an example I made. Anyone need insurance
Awesome No Int, now I know how to make some 1” tokens to put on washers, and can use the bloodied template to give them a good reverse side. Ha ha I have learned so many useful little things here to help with running games and playing. I would be such a basic player without you guys (and girls)
I’m going to have to to place the text on the outside of the bloodied template, rather than under the blood… it is a little too dark to read the letters through easily while playing from a distance at the end opf the table.
Next batch I’m gonna have to remember that, and if any of you decide to make your own, remember that as well....
And the counters make keeping track of multiple enemies of the same type a lot easier… more so than minis imho.
After messing around with this a little bit, I made the following:
Yes, I felt kind of bad while making the second one.
I put the border on there to give me a bit of leeway when punching the circles out. If I’m over a bit, it’s just going to show a little more black on one side than the other. I’m fine with that. Still, at 10 pixels it’s a bit wide so I might knock it down to 5 or 7. I also need to clean up some white spaces in the blood splatter--I must have missed them when trying to make it transparent.
I still need to find a way to add the text frames to my photoshop template. The curved text is pretty cool, but it’d also have to be done custom for each name. I’m leaning toward having a little black box on the bottom so I can have the text stand out and not have to do wild contortions that a prepubescant gymnast would envy.
