I use the other side of the counter for the bloddy.  that’s the purpose of the trasparency.
I make towo versions of the kobold, stick ‘em on both sides of the counter, but one has the bloody overlay on it already printed on.  its not a separate element.

when a guy is bloody, just flip the counter....

I REALLY like this idea.  You don’t have to worry about random miniatures or flimsy paper cut outs (though someone’s idea of having miniatures for PCs is good because it makes them distinguishable from the monsters, even though tokens for those would be cool too)

Good work here grin

I may be a little behind the times, but I just discovered the TokenTool by RPTools.net. It’s a simple clipping type application that you can use to “cut out” tokens from larger images. It has a variety of cool borders as well.

I attached an example I made. Anyone need insurance grin

Ha ha yea, and the good thing about that is that you can drag and drop them from there into maptools, so it makes it easy to transfer them

You could save the tokentools tokens as .png files also and print them out, although i don’t know if they are to scale or if you need to resize them…

Yea, they are kinda easy to change the size so i don’t know how you would get it to scale exactly
Not quite the best way

The base size is 128 x 128 pixels, if that helps.

Also, it saves them as .png (cannot change file type) so be warned.

Cool, now only if I knew how far across 128 pixels is.  Anyone got a clue?

It appears to be 1.333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 inches. A 1-inch square of pixels seems to be 96 x 96.

Awesome No Int, now I know how to make some 1” tokens to put on washers, and can use the bloodied template to give them a good reverse side.  Ha ha I have learned so many useful little things here to help with running games and playing.  I would be such a basic player without you guys (and girls) grin

On a practical note from recent table experience:

I’m going to have to to place the text on the outside of the bloodied template, rather than under the blood… it is a little too dark to read the letters through easily while playing from a distance at the end opf the table.

Next batch I’m gonna have to remember that, and if any of you decide to make your own, remember that as well....

And the counters make keeping track of multiple enemies of the same type a lot easier… more so than minis imho.

Washers could be used with color coded magnets to mark other conditions as well (like Alea Tools does).

That’s the main reason I wanted some. =(

With the magnets I think that this is gonna be a great idea to use.  Should be easy to keep statuses and such in order of what is on who

After messing around with this a little bit, I made the following:

2ylv7rt.png 23u3b4n.jpg

Yes, I felt kind of bad while making the second one.

I put the border on there to give me a bit of leeway when punching the circles out. If I’m over a bit, it’s just going to show a little more black on one side than the other. I’m fine with that. Still, at 10 pixels it’s a bit wide so I might knock it down to 5 or 7. I also need to clean up some white spaces in the blood splatter--I must have missed them when trying to make it transparent.

I still need to find a way to add the text frames to my photoshop template. The curved text is pretty cool, but it’d also have to be done custom for each name. I’m leaning toward having a little black box on the bottom so I can have the text stand out and not have to do wild contortions that a prepubescant gymnast would envy.

On a related note, do they make 2” washers? smile
