4th & Dragon : Dungeons and Dragons...and stuff

I was thinking of going down to my FLGS and picking up a copy, does anyone have it?  Any opinions?

I am going to have a tough time getting some old FR fans to play the new version, but I will try.

Hi guys, I just picked it up today at my FLGS. I’ve only had a chance to skim thru it a few times… but so far I’ve found it to be a very interesting read, and I’m not regretting a penny I spent on it .

I can’t wait for the Players Guide.

I personally am an Eberron DM, but still am having a hard time resisting this purchase. Maybe if I wait until the Adventurer’s Vault I will satisfy that urge.

But at least your getting to play, I am about to go nuts here.  The PbP is taking forever to get started and I won’t have a chance to even start looking for a F2F group for another week or two b/c of the move to college and having to get settled in.  Oh woe is me

I am tempted by the FRCG as well, since I’ve played in and been running FR for some time, but in my own games I only use FR so that I don’t have to draw my own maps and can occasionally steal plot hooks.  With 4th edition I am trying to go the custom route and build my own world from the ground up, so I think the only setting books I will buy are the player guides to get the extra feats, powers, etc.

From what i read up to now its good, but not that good. I feel a bit lost in all those change, i know they tryed to explain the magic system change and the eladrin/elf coming back. But the new setting almost remind me Rift. I am not a huge fan of post-apocalyptic setting, and this is mostly it. They got rid of the huge partheon but i dont think its for the best i liked the fact that there was alot of gods.

I will make a good read of it, i just got it last night and i had a raid in wow so i couldnt read much of it, so i will see.
