Continuing the discussion in the OOC thread, I’ve been thinking about Rothé’s worries regarding Strength-based melee attacks and the thing is, I think there are plenty enough Str-centered characters around already. I think I’ll focus on Dexterity and missile attacks instead, as it seems we’re a bit weak on that front as it stands. Just so you don’t think I’m ignoring your concerns
Ha ha thanks Rothe, once I get settled in after a week or so and get used to my schedule (thinking about picking up a part time job so I am not a poor boy
And FrostNumenor, tomorrow night is totally fine. I just moved in to college too so I know how you feel. Sassaroth has made his warlock and emailed it to me but I asked him to post it by tuesday night as well. So, barring any disasters, we should be rolling wednesday
Oh and everyone try to get backgrounds up by then too, and finish anything on your sheets you need. especial;y anything we need to play
And I will make those Stat boxes and put them in the character thread by tomorrow too
Speaking of which, it’s been hard to find the time to make my character. I’d like to blame it on work (and it’s been a moderately busy day today), but it’s mostly because I just got a brand spankin’ new Nintendo DS and frittered away my free time at home with it Tomorrow it should be done though.
I bought my wife a wii on Sunday when we came home, so it has been a little busier than I expected with school starting back up and her playing the wii. Luckily she is hogging it so i have had time to put together most of my character.
I don’t have time tonight to work on my character stuff, but I will move those posts from the character sheet thread into this ooc thread. I quoted the relevant stuff below:

PlayDnD, powerful charge does not help you with attacks other than the basic attack you make when charging and bull rush. It does not affect your powers.

I’ll post maybe tonight, or at most tomorrow, preferrably after I read the campaign background and stuff. But, just as a FYI, my character’s going to be an elven rogue, probably with the Artful Dodger option and largely based on melee (could change that though), named Galtrik Yolranet. That’s because he’s going to be a revamp of a 2nd edition elven thief I had waaay back in the day, one of my first few characters in fact
FrostNumeror, I looked at your character. It is good if you are taking a bit more healing powers, since a tactical warlord does not have that many.
I do suggest taking the Beacon of Hope for a daily power if you want to focus on healing a bit since the +5hp healed per healing power is just awesome. Also, the healing bonus is an effect, so it happens even on a miss. A cleric in my KotS game had it and it was really a lifesaver in many tough situations.
Ok, well I understand that school and a lot of other stuff is coming up right now so this can be put back a little I guess (as if I had a choice )
It’ll give me some time to do like I have been meaning to do and read backgrounds and make write-ups for stuff anyway. But please everyone, try to get those characters up and complete with backgrounds sometime soon. I know life gets in the way, but it honestly can’t take more than an hour to polish them up (maybe two if you have to start from scratch)
So we need to get ready, cause I wanna play (or DM i guess) some D&D
I am still contemplating on switching my sword and shield to a spiked chain for reach. I dunno.
Any ideas?
IMO, switching to the spiked chain wouldn’t fit the background of an ex-military man. I doubt very seriously there was anybody in the military who could have trained you in its use. You could say you picked up its use after you left, but it still doesn’t fit the theme of the character.
I have to agree with raineym, with the background you provided it doesnt fit. Maybe you could roleplay your training into it and get it in a few levels, but then again no one in the group could teach it to you. Sword and shield is a pretty standard military training in D&D for army, and provide good defence to someone on the front line.
well i posted my character with a short personality background, but I forgot a feat. I am thinking of Kord’s Favor or taking a Weapon Proficency for it. Any opinions on a feat?
My background will probably make it on there this weekend when i have more time. I have a lot of freshman classes, my old school let me test out of them but it was an in house test so it doesn’t transfer. So with them being freshman classes there is alot of busy work.
oh and I switched to beacon. I read it wrong when i looked over it. I thought it was till the end of my turn not encounter, which of course would have been pretty weak.
