Okay, the spell “grease,” is the grease it summons flamable?
I have my own ideas about that and my answer would actually depend upon the situation, but I’m curious to know what others would say.

Sure it is flammable, somewhat. Just not quickly. It won’t go ‘poof’ and there won’t be an explosion.

I mean… the ingredient is a pork rind or butter… will that burn easily? Nope.

Mundane flames don’t deal too much damage, so I’d expect it to be quite useless for that kind of tricks.

Taking advantage of this topic I hope someone help about this spell.

If I cast this spell and a creature, that is immune to magic, enters this area, she must make a saving throw to don’t fall?

Thanks.

By my interpretation, yes, that would be the case. Grease is a conjuration spell which does not allow for spell resistance (see the line about immunity to magic in the golems’ monster entries) - therefore it creates actual ‘grease’.

If a golem enters a greased area, it might very well fall. wink

Well, no, I wouldn’t have it do damage, but it creates a lot of smoke, which hampers visibility and risks suffocation.

A group entered a room and at this room four golens. The battle was hard and the pcs are not hurting the golens, than a mage use grease and the golens can’t go out the area. When they try stand up, they fall prone again, again and again.

The pcs continue the exploration let the golens behind.

Oh, I wouldn’t leave golems behind.  The grease spell ends eventually and then the golems get back up and go looking for you.

I forgot some details RJ. The pcs deactive the power source that keep the golens moving. They were activeted by a gnome trap.

Why would it create ‘a lot of smoke’? Seriously, there are much better things to burn to create smoke than grease. It takes a while to get burning, really.

Well, then the golems were just unlucky. Or the PCs were just lucky. The golems from the MM I have a balance check of -1 and they just need to beat a DC of 10. That’s a 50% chance to move out of the greased area. I’m not quite sure how four golems could fail at this check again and again, the probability is just rather lowish. wink

Hi Rothe.

I’m brazilian and live at Natal.
My blog is really poor in RPG stuff, but I’ll recommend the following:

http://www.rederpg.com.br
http://d3system.com.br
http://www.rpgarautos.com.br
http://www.ultimosdiasdegloria.com

All of them have a lot of good rpg stuff.

Where are you living at Brazil now?

In São Paulo, I am working here on foreign assignment. I still have one year of my contract left.

Has a long time that I don’t travel to São Paulo.

There are many cool people that work with RPG in São Paulo. The main companny that translates the books for our language has a shop: Devir Terra Media.

http://www.devir.com

I think that they play every weekend, but you’ll take more informations (if you want to play) at http://d3system.com.br

Send messenges to Bruno Cobbi (D&D PHB Official Translator), D3 (responsable to the line D&D at Devir) and Johnny (d3 System site administrator). They are good guys.

Now I’m working at Pará - teaching in a mining companny and in the next weekend I’ll go home and play a lot of RPG.

Everything send me a e-mail.

Bye and sorry for my poor english.
