4th & Dragon : Dungeons and Dragons...and stuff

I forgot I wasn’t talking to my wife on here.  Check out = code for open the book up at bookstore then walk to the checkout and purchase.  I bought the 3.0 arms and equiptment and was debating on this one.  Which I was pretty sure i would go to the store and was about 50/50 on wether or not I would walk out with it, now you have convinced me to go get it.

Darn wife doesn’t always understand why i need all these books, so I tend to tell her I am going to check it out and then decide later if I want it.  Too bad later tends to be about 1sec later.

Is the book overall better/more useful than the 3.0 Arms and Equiptment was?

I personally disliked the Arms and Equipment guide for various reasons, but relate this book more to the Magic Item Compendium that Wizards put out for 3.5 edition. This has much use for me and I look forward to seeing my player’s faces when I throw out some crazy new item.

I wish this book had a bit more in terms of nonmagical equipment (which was one reason why I liked Arms and Equipment guide so much).

Lots of the stuff that used to be nonmagical is now assigned a magic item level though, like the alchemical stuff.

i’m through the first chapter and so far i really like it. the status of ‘out of control’ seems like a fun addition to any gaming table

sirtayls, what do you mean “out of control”?

Vehicles have an “out of control” condition that applies when there is no pilot at the helm, there is insufficient crew to man the vessel, or the pilot/crew fails the skill checks needed to control the vessel (generally because some outside force is interfering).

I am going to pick up this and the FR campaign guide (I broke down and told myself I wanted/needed it ) tomorrow so I’ll be able to see for myself all the cool new stuff in there I’m pumped
