Hey guys and gals, don’t know if your board of these conversations or not but I’ve been bitten by the DND bug and I want to play.

So I was thinking of running my own PbP game as well, and it will take place in Forgotten Realms.
Here’s where I wow you all, I want as many people that are interested to play to play.  Ya, that’s right, non of these convos about I can only take 5 people in my game, and don’t worry about what class you are, I want you to play whatever you want.

It would work like a Living Game, with players being all around the world and doing there thing, maybe running into other NPCs.  This is a common idea in other, larger PbP areas (I think), and I think it would make the world come to life a lot better.

So some questions for you guys:
First of all the technical part, dose it matter if I have a few PbP topics up, or will that bother the site?  I know that’s a pretty noob question, but I want to make sure it’s alright before I go ahead doing this.

Second, the fun part, are people interested?  If they are just say so and once I know I have enough people we will do it.  I just want people to know that this will be a story driven game (I hope) so worry more about story rather then anything else.  Being an Evil Drow, awesome, I’m sure we can get a group of people that start the game in the Underdark.  Lawful Good Paladin, awesome, we can most likely find other good doers to fight for justice with you.

So ya, talk to you guys soon, hopefully.

Oh and bye the bye, level 1, and all books are a.o.k. smile

As far as having a few topics up I don’t think anyone will mind (I mean I have three for Lost Islands over in the 4E PbP forums), more activity could be fun for everyone grin But I’m not a big bad authority so not like I have any real pull, I just doubt that anyone would mind having up multiple topics as long as they served a purpose for you PbP game.

From the sounds of your description you have my ear, but I would like to hear more about it before I made any big or final decisions.  Like how you plan to keep things in order and almost kind of multiple games running in the same world at once.  Not that I doubt you, I just see people say they are going to do like this and I just can’t see how I personally would run it without having a lot of stuff to keep track of that I would eventually mix up grin

So maybe a little more info and I can tell you?  And you would have to see how many other people you can rope in grin

I am interested in seeing more PbPs here (although, I can’t commit to yet another). The forums will expand to whatever is needed, don’t worry about clutter. PbPs will draw more players and members.

The one pbp i am attempting to run with my two friends and my wife(one friend is out of town) we are currently having a seperate in character for each.  just now did two of them meet up.

I will let them know about this and see if i can get them to sign up and show interest if they are interested that is and have enough time.

Well seems like some support to me andrewk grin I think Talae is right though, even if everyone from this board does not jump right on, I bet other people who read the site without being a member would join up at the chance to play a massive game of D&D

Ya I understand that you want more info and the like, I just wanted to see if I had at least a few people who were interested.

How I’m going to run several campaigns at one is each group that starts will start on the same day and I’ll keep a well run calendar of events.  This means that some events in one forum will have already happened towards an other, but I’m going to try to keep them close to each other in dates so that if one group goes to a large city they will be their the same day or even for the same period of time as an other group.

Also to create group interaction and the idea that you will not always be with the group you start with I will have plots that will take you away from those groups for solo people, and have you start talking to others, needing to talk to other PC’s int he world.

If people think this is a silly way of doing it, or have tried it and have help or have tried it and know it will never work give me a shout.  Thanks.

I will have a story synopses up later today in the 4e pbp section for OOC talk and just chatter about what we want with the game.

Well it sounds like you have a good game plan and method for doing it.  Sounds like something I wanna play, And I believe that i have room in my PbP schedule for another grin As long as it doesn’t get too complicated grin

It should be no more complicated then any other DnD game, put as much time and effort as you want.

Ok then, count me in.  I just read over your synopsis and it looks really good.  I’ll read over my new books (glad I picked up the FR: CG earlier today grin ) and see what I can learn about the setting.  I have read a fair amount of FR books though so I am not starting with a totally new view of it.

Whats OrangUtan from?  Ninja can be just a rouge with the flavor of a ninja.

If you can think of a story for him then sure, but I would prefer normal races, nothing awakened. Story wise others may not travel with you, and I do want it to be character interaction most of all.

I’d be down for another game. Would I need to pick up the FR book for this?

It wouldn’t hurt, but you could get bye without it.  Even just reading the wiki online about the new areas after the spellplauge would help just so you have a solid back story, but I can help you out there if you need it.

Cool. I’ll probably just order a cheap copy off amazon used and wait until I get that, lest I miss out on choice extra build options. LOL
