Numaar - Round 4:

Swarm attacks and ongoing damage was already done in previous update.

Minor Action:
Expeditious Stride (speed +4 and shift +1 square until end of next round)

Move Action: Shift to AB9

Standard Action->Move Action: Retrive and drink Potion(10hp)

Numaar getting swarmed by the swarms and in no condition to stand his ground, he pushes himself to move faster and tries his best to move to safety. Reaching a safer point he retrives another potion and downs it hopeing it is enough to stave off the Striges bloodlust.  He tries to maintain his closeness to Varis incase Varis has some spell to help heal his wounds.  However, he prepares himself to move further back if the scent of blood draws the stirges again hopefully leading them away from his friends.

“Sacrifice me if they follow” says Numaar to Faelar “But be sure to kill those bastards”

Numaar saves vs. ongoing damage, rolls *6* *FAIL*, *1* *FAIL* and *15* *SUCCESS*, one instance of ongoing damage is removed.

Numaar still bleeds from many small wounds.

The only stirge active is stirge12, but it is attached to Halgrath and does not make attacks.

Genova - Round 4:

Genova is attacked by swarm2, attack roll *17*, total attack 31 vs. AC,

Genova saves vs. death, roll *14*, *SUCCESS*, no change in condition.
Genova saves vs. ongoing damage, roll *5*, *FAIL*, ongoing damage continues.

Roper1 - Round 4:

Roper1 cannot see enemies so it delays its turn for now.

Mexil - Round 4:

Talae, you can decide again if you want to change your action, since Genova is down now. You can already guess that roper1 is going to act once it sees something, so I moved it after you.

Varis - Round 4 cont...

See previous update for beginning of round.

Move action: Varis tries to escape the roper using acrobatics. Roll *18*, total acrobatics check 24 vs. Reflex of roper1. *SUCCESS* Varis shifts to Y9 as part of the escape action.

Varis manages to shake off the roper’s hold and staggers back from it.

Varis attacks swarm2 with Strengthen the Faithful, attack roll *13*, total attack 24 vs. AC, *HIT* for 9 damage (swarm resistance, rolled 18 damage).
Hit allows everyone adjacent to the swarm to spend a surge with +7 to the amount healed.
Varis uses a healing surge gaining 25hp; Halgrath uses a healing surge and gains 29hp; Genova uses a healing surge gaining 27hp (to 27hp total).

Varis shouts: “Retreat! We will not fall here!” and swings a blow at the swarm, killing some stirges. Halgrath and Genova are bathed in a warm glow from Varis’s hammer and refreshed somewhat. Genova struggles on the cave floor, still being grabbed by the smaller roper, but now getting back to the fight.

Minor action: sustain the sacred ground zone

Saving throws: Rolls *5* *SUCCESS* and *13* *FAILS*, the ongoing damage is not removed, but one more save is enough to stop it.

Halgrath - Round 4

Beginning of round: Halgrath takes 3 ongoing damage from the stirge.
Both swarms attack Halgrath, swarm 1 rolls *9*, total attack 23 vs. AC, *MISS*.
swarm2 rolls *13*, total attack 27 vs. AC, *HIT* for 8 damage and 5 ongoing damage (save ends).

Swarm2 attack roll *12*, *MISS*

Standard into a Minor: Lay on hands to Genova. Genova gains 20 hp.

Halgrath takes a more defensive posture and moves through the swirling cloud of stirges to heal Genova. He manages to avoid getting hit by the swarms.

Halgrath touches Genova’s shoulder and a pulse of white light emits from his hand and it seems to invigorate Genova.

“This doesn’t look like a good place to be.  Mexil, if you could give us some cover we should get out of here before the rest of us drop!”

Saving throw: Roll *8*, *success*, ongoing damage stops.

Alexander - Round 4

Alexander casts Sleep at square V13:

Attack roll *14* on swarm2, total attack 27 vs. Will, *HIT* and the swarm is slowed (save ends) and it will fall unconscious if the save fails.

Sweat forming on his brow as the situation quickly turns dire, Alexander points his orb behind the swarms, causing a small blizzard to form. “That’s the clearest shot I could get” he chides himself. Yelling to the others, “We need to pull back and regroup before the rest of us are overcome!”

Move action: Move to AG15 (or a square or 2 behind it if it still let’s me see the field of action.)

Alexander retreats towards the tunnel entrance.

Swarms of stirges - Round 4

Both swarms take damage from the zone, swarm2 takes 9 damage and swarm1 takes 6 damage. Swarm2 is now bloodied.

The glow from the cave floor seems to blind some of the stirges and they fly astray hitting the cave floor.

Swarm1 moves to AB-AC/10-11.
Swarm1 attacks Numaar, attack roll *6*, total attack 20 vs. AC, *MISS*

One of the swarms continues to follow Numaar, but the stirges do not manage to hit him.

Swarm2 attacks Varis, attack roll *5*, *MISS*
Swarm2 shifts to Y-Z/10-11.

The other swarm flaps around and avoids the light. Some stirges try to land on Varis, but fail.

Saving throws:
Swarm2 rolls *8* and falls unconscious.

One of the swarms seems to lose cohesion and the stirges land on the cave floor flapping drowsily.

Faelar - Round 4

Beginning of round, swarm1 attacks Faelar, attack roll *3*, *MISS*.

Thunderwave starting from AC10 extending to north and east.
Attack roll on swarm1 *10*, total attack 20 vs. fortitude, *HIT* for 18 damage and the swarm is knocked back 1 square.
Attack roll on swarm2 *13*, total attack 23 vs. fortitude, *HIT* for 19 damage and the swarm is knocked back 2 squares.

Faelar braces his staff and lets loose a blast of thunder at the swarms, knocking them back and killing some of the stirges.

Faelar moves to AG12.

Faelar moves towards the tunnel entrance.

The smaller roper moves to U-V/15-16 keeping Genova grabbed.

*HIT* for 9 damage.

The roper lunges at Genova, trying to bite her. She is hurt, but manages to keep herself out of the roper’s mouth.
