... As I looked over the 4E books that are coming out in the next few months, I am probably going to be buying a lot of books grin

How do you all stop and decide which ones you buy, and which ones you pass on?  I was just curious, cause a lot of these books like they will be really interesting, I don’t know if I can stop myself from ending up with a huge stack of books over the next year or so grin cheese

I only plan to buy the book that has the druids and barbarians.

i go with the ones that are most useful for the group - magic item book and the FR sourcebook for the new classes.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Welcome to my life…

I’m lucky though, I work at a game store so I can read the stuff first to know if it is really worth it or not.

With 3.5 though, I just bought the stuff I was going to use.  Therefore non of the races of books or adventures.  Also I never saw much interest for the Hero’s of series.  Basically just character concepts and Eberron stuff for me.

Saying that though I have a LOT of books still rasberry.

I plan on buying power source(Martial, Arcane, Divine and whatever else they come out with) books and any PHB they come out with and probably 1-2 more MM and also the books with new classes.

Ha ha well nice to see I am not the only one.  I was thinking I would try to just buy books I will use, but I always find a way to justify getting them eventually grin

Definitely the power books (Martial, Arcane) and the extra MM and PHB that come out.  I guess I’ll just have to go to the book store and see what is in the other books, they don’t mind me hanging out and reading over them for a while to see if I want to buy or not.

I’ll probably just get excited and end up buying them anyway, I love having new things to work with.  And I am planning on keeping all my notes with my campaign world in my PbP, Lost Islands.  I already have stuff organized and plan to hold onto it even after we are done (hopefully not for a long long time grin ) so that I can keep expanding and building it into a real-live setting.

I figure in a few years of playing in that world I can have pretty good maps and really specific inhabitant information drawn up and filed.  Maybe eventually post it here on this site in the resources area or somewhere on the web.  I’ll probably end up justifying the purchases as aiding in the creation of that grin Oh well, there could be worse things to spend my money on rasberry
