Ok, thats all I’m going to do until the Wiki is working better. Its far from fleshed out but should give some idea about the type of character I plan on playing. I plan on adding some dodge and a passable attack as well yet.
K, character is still a work in progress. I’m done with most of the building part of it and am now in search of some editing. Could someone who understands the rules better than me check over my point expendatures to make sure I did it correctly please? I will be coming up with a decent background (much of which the character herself will not know due to the amnesia) in the meantime.
I had a long response, but for whatever reason, posting here while I’m subbing at school doesn’t seem to work often.
I figure the FLEA will be a lot like DC’s The Atom. I envisioned him for a one on one game that never started, thinking of him as a superspy with the ability to surf electronic transmissions. I figured he’d be the best weapon to have against terrorist cell networks like Al Aqsa and Al Qaeda. He’ll most likely be the “Face” character with significant abilities in the dex monkey side of things (he can slip to atomic size, move through objects at the molecular level, and then come back to size to open doors from the inside - things like that).
I see my character as being the kinda the bard of the party, really. There for communication but can handle complimenting the party and some surgical strikes. I also see her and FLEA being able to compliment eachother quite well with the espionage type things but in completely different ways. I see her being most like Psylocke or Batgirl (Cassy).
Ummm… My character’s the healer? He’s also former army and so not bad as a combatant, but only against normal human foes. Against FX powered fighters he’s going to be quite vulnerable (unless their FX’s have the poison or disease descriptor).
At least at this point. I’m still working out how his different healing abilities translate into stats and if I find that I have points “left over” after doing so I might just expand the character’s repitoire a bit to include some offensive capabilities.
I have decided to go with Seattle Man in hopes of developing the concept I have had since high school. My only concern is that this character is youthful (high school age) and could possibly be out of place with a militaristic campaign. He will fill a roll in the group similar to that of Storm from X-Men or Static Shock from the DC comic world. I am working on pricing him out now, but don’t expect anything until the end of the week as school can be rough.
My very initial concept was a sort of speedster.
The specifics will show up sometime later this week - I have time off, and this (and another rp project) can get some time.
Edit: 3 and a half hours is “later this week.”
I am intent on including some sort of think like Haste, something better than quickness.
I see no way to reproduce what I want (a simple “acts twice as fast, period") in the current rules. Thus, make something up!
The cost is sort of based off of the GURPS pricing of a similar ability. 16 for a doubling and scaling the progression back would be a high end, 10 or 8 for a doubling the low end.
It seems more balanced at rank 1 and 2 but the scaling seems unbalanced to me. Just a personal thought. *shrug* Honestly, quickness seems like it would do the same thing if given an extra to allow it to affect other things than simply “casual” actions. What is it that haste offers that quickness does not?
