Hi, I am new here but hope that yall can be some help.

I am currently playing in a Eberron campaign but will be allowed to play a goliath, even though they dont exactly fit in.

There were a few drawbacks added to the Goliath however. These are all based on things aken from the write up in RoS.

1) No heavy armors, according to their write up Goliaths rely heavily on freedom of movement and heavy armor restricts this.

2) Code of Honor. I wont write out the whole thing but essentially Goliaths must always act in the best interest of those they consider friends and family and may not cheat or gain an unfair advantage.

Ok with that out of the way…

I am planning on playing a straight fighter starting out, and using my starting feats to take Rock Hurling and Fling Ally both from RoS. Just cant resist the chance to pull off the old Fastball Special. lol. Eventually I intend to get Brutal Throw.

After this though I am kinda lost where to go. I am loosely basing the character on Iorek the Panserbjorn from The Golden Compass. Any suggestions. Stats are as follows.

22 Str
10 Dex
12 Con
12 Int
12 Wis
12 Cha

Hmm were those stats from rolls or point buy this is important to note as much advice may come from changing your stats. In general for most builds you don’t want to spend the necessary points to make a stat an 18.
(most builds, several spellcaster types are exceptions)

I keep intending to start planing ahead but I keep putting it off.

Also, dex is still important to you even if you get brutal throw.
AC will be low as you cannot wear heavy armor.

I would focus on Str, Dex and Con, leaving spare points for wisdom.

That is if you are using some kind of point buy or if you can arrange as you wish.

Thrown weapons can be fun. I think one option might be to focus on one type of exotic thrown weapon (no idea what that would be at the moment though) and get into exotic weapon master and/or other prc to get ranged disarm and trip which your size bonus and strength would be great for.

It is 32 point buy, unless I did some math wrong, which is always a possibility. Racial mods give +4 STR, -2 dex, +2 Con. I was debating dropping the Strength a bit perhaps to a 16 to allow bumping up of other stats, but I really like the idea of the 22 strength.

AC is a big problem. I was debating picking up maybe a level or two of spellcasting so as to augment my AC. Sense I am in eberron I was debating about maybe a few levels of Artificer. But not sure if that would be the best option.

Do you have any particular reason to keep up the mental stats?
I´d dump one of them to 8 (cha probably) and use those points on the dex.

Right now your stats are 34 points. I’d put Cha at 8 and Int and Wis each at 10 to have Str 22, Dex 12, and Con 16. This could really turn out to be a very powerful and interesting character if you build it right. Here’s what I’d do for feats:

1. Rock Hurling, Brutal Throw
2. Power Attack
3. Cleave
4. Weapon Focus (melee weapon)
6. Weapon Specialization, Leap Attack
8. Melee Weapon Mastery
9. Iron Will
10. Greater Weapon Focus
12. Greater Weapon Specialization
14. Improved Sunder
15. Fling Ally
16. Great Cleave
18. Weapon Supremacy, Improved Rock Hurling
20. Improved Toughness

I like the stat rearrangement but I really want the Fling Ally at first. It plus our Halfling Rogue are too much fun to resist.

My initial build idea was to use Fling Ally as a means to give us tactical advantage. then at later levels use improved grapple, bull rush and trip, to which I get large bonuses to neutralize threats. Eventually possibly going into improved critical for ridiculous damage with a large 2 handed weapon.

As for Weapons I was debating a great axe of large size, for 3d6 plus 9 damage, but then thought of perhaps using a large Falchion, less damage but bigger crit.

How ‘bout Warblade (Bo9S) for cool maneuvers, esp. from the Stone Dragon discipline. I think you’d make a pretty cool thrower with Bloodstorm Blade - just imagine Lightning Ricochet with a boulder!
