I need to know your forumname just for communication purposes. Whether or not you include that in the PDF is up to you. When the entries are posted before voting starts, your membername will be mentioned anyhow.
That’s what I needed to know. I didn’t have a clear understanding if the entries were being posted “open” (everyone’s forum name is known to all voters) or “closed” (entries are anonymous for voting).
I should be able to package these up and ship them to you tomorrow or thursday.
Damn. I wish I had that kind of time. As is I’m only going to get one encounter to any state that could be reasonably called “finished” and even then there’s so much more I’d like to do to it.
This is probably too late (curses to homework, I’ve only just gotten a chance to work on my entry!) but, can we describe a new monster without listing stats? You’ve said we can list new magic items as long as we do a general description with no rules (ie. Magic ring, gives health after set ammount of time) can we do the same with monsters? Ie. Shadow Beast, controller, has minor ranged magic, teleportation, and healing abilities.
So how is voting going to work? 1/poster, multiple equal votes, multiple tiered votes, and/or negative votes? Will we be voting by entry or by author? Can a voter change his/her vote once it is cast within a timeframe or is it a once-and-done deal?
Well, I’ve posted this site and the contest on a couple of boards, and I’ve seen some people I recognize by their logins sign on and vote. I appreciate those who have already voted for my entry, and hope more continue to do so. I like my other one ("Flowstone Palace"), too, but this encounter was rather fun to create as well.
I’m asking my gaming group to vote later tonight. I hope some of them show up, but even so, I’m starting to question if this contest is actually winnable—no matter how many votes are actually gained. Wish it were one vote per IP address, but that would exclude gamers who live together (or married couples). Still, it’s frustrating to see my frends and acquaintences spend time coming here to vote, and then seeing another entry jump within minutes to stay in the lead. Still, second place isn’t too bad, either.
I am looking through the system logs of new registrations and noting areas of concern. It’s really lame that I have to do this. Oh well… nature of the Internet beast I guess. It’s too much to ask that this community would be honest with each other. Sigh.
I will post my findings if there is anything worth noting. BTW - I have already been approached by one contestant about a friend of theirs registering multiple times. I will reduce the vote count accordingly.
