Seems like I missed quite a bit of conversation in Teela’s match vs. Sulaus. I’ll get Queras geared up to comment.

Hm… I’ll ask OOCly for now - is anyone willing to accept a challenge from Queras currently? Or is everyone busy?

I’ve been thinking of creating my own summoner to participate in this Conjurer’s chess. It seems like a lot of fun and when I have one of my own I’m willing to accept a challange.

Can someone give me some tips on creating a summoner? I’ve been thinking of a cleric summoner with the summoning and evil domains focussing on the Summon undead creatures.

It’s a very viable concept, though it’s also vunerable to a few particular weaknesses.  I’d study over Queras and the matches he’s taken part in, as he has made some fairly effective use of the Undead.

I can’t give you tips on construction specifically, as I am trying not to favor one player over another and (for obvious reasons) have made VERY close study of the ins and outs of summoning and summoners.

In any event, we’d be happy to have you on board.

As Andorax said, focusing on one type of summons might not be the best solution - flexibility and diversity are as important as a strong type of summon.

But rest at ease… clerics can cast summon undead, summon monster and conjure ice beasts. So as long as you keep all of this in mind, a cleric will do just fine.

The summon domain is an obvious choice for the domain spells and the +2 caster level.

I’ve got some ideas for casters floating around in my head currently - if you want, I can aid you in creating a summoner of your choice, be that a cleric or another.

And I can help you in greater detail than Andorax can, him being DM and all that. Go ahead and PM me if you want to exchange some ideas.

Well, I think you can simply go ahead an post Yleyr’s prep round action, Cameron. I guess he had something else prepared and then forgot to edit that last part.

Whichever is fine by me. A long pause will be awkward, but at the same time I am dying to play. I tend to think waiting might be best.

Uh… why wait? It’s not as if such a match cannot be reassessed easily within 15 minutes or so?

You could just start out and then continue when you are back. Sure, you could also simply wait - I’m just not seeing why you should have to.

I presumed that he was taking advantage of the Pirate Cove’s “non-obvious preps” rule to cast that ahead, since it has more than enough duration. 

However, if I misinterpret and that is his prep-round spell, he still needs to specify if he is taking or conceding the first action.

As for being out of town for a while...if everyone else is ok with it, I’m perfectly willing to leave the thread sit until you get back.  Play while you can, pick it up when you return.

I will try to post often before leaving. My spell being cast was indeed part of the non-visible rules.
