Dragons Cube by Andorax

Nifaraskian is a copper dragon who has secured an interesting lair. While usually sociable and decent, for obvious reason he takes poorly to intrusions into his home, particularly if those intruders come upon him on a bad day.

Let me be the first one to comment on the entries:

This is quite ingenious. I like it very much. Seems like Andorax has been playing Portal lately. Only thing missing is a vague reference to Weighted Companion Cube.

Now I’m ALWAYS smiling!

I saw the Portal reference (pretty obvious to anyone who’s played it), but putting it into a tabletop RPG is awesome.  The only negative I have for this entry isn’t even related to the content - it’s the background picture, which makes it hard to read the text.

Now I stretch your guys’ belief.  Not only is it not based on “Portal”, but I also do not even know what Portal IS...though I presume from what I’ve heard of late that it’s a computer game.

My poor, pathetic PC is so far behind that about all I ever play on it is Starcraft/Diablo II.

The concept behind Dragonscube is to find a creative way to work wtih dimensional manipulation...I’ve seen a lot of FR sites (Undermountain and Myth Dranor, to name two major ones) that use portals extensivly, and thought it might be amusing to place several portals within reach of each other.  This lead to thinking about what sorts of interactions they might have, what creature might lair in such a location...and ultimately, to what you see here.

Sorry about the background image, Cameron.  I struggled at length with coming up with a good one for this, and may not have softened it enough.

This is kind of cool! Its just like Portal! I’ll have to try a room like this in my game. I didn’t get the portal to sweep out the trash being used as an escape route, though. Seems like it would open somewhere he could get away a lot easier than another room he’s got to jump into.

Cool entry!

Thanks for the comments.  The trash bin is the only readily available way out, as it is the only way likely to be “set” to an external location.  I’m going to have to actually try this “Portal” game you guys are mentioning.
