Well, I guess we’re about to find out.

Perhaps the only precept taught me by Grandfather Wills that I have honored all my adult life is that profanity and obscenity entitle people who don’t want unpleasant information to close their eyes and ears to you.

This seems like it would not work all that well for pbps - lots of choices and things that you can do that would greatly affect what the next characters in initiative would do.

I’m not saying I’m annoyed by the choices, they’re nifty, but there’re a lot of them and it would poke at many of pbp’s weaknesses.

That is actually exactly what I was thinking as I was preparing for the campagn over the weekend.  “Gosh, that ‘Tide of Iron’ is going to be a pain to DM, because It is going to effect what other people do.”

But as BP said, we are getting ready to see how it will work.  I think the DM will just have to be a bit more on his toes, of the players will have to post contingency plans.

With the insider virtual table I imagine that the pbp will drop off a bit anyway.  There have been time sI would have rather chat played than post played.  I will probably get a game for the virtual table going in any event even if it is a 2-3 hour/1 or 2 weeks kinda thing anyway.  That is going to be a great way for members here to play.

Hahaha, I actually had a conversation with myself that went somethign like this:

“Why would WotC make the game PbP unfriendly? you would think that would kill their demographic that wanted to play but did not have a group.”

“So that those people would pay for DDi you idiot.”

“Heh, makes sense.”

Ha ha, true.

I swear, if that thing ends up costing $15 a month I am going to be so amazingly ticked off.

Oh boo. That was going to be my fall back if I couldn’t find a gaming group here. That’s MMO type pricing for something I’d use probably once a week tops.  shut eye

true but you are getting a ton of stuff for $15 a month.  You get the crunch of every book they print so it could almost replace buying books ( say almost since you will not get any flavor text, etc)

Since I already pay for an MMO that I use rarely, I’ll just be shifting the money.  I’d rather give it to D&D anyway.  I’ll do a 3 month subscription first before I pay for the 12 month.
