Wait, why is Erais still suffering from the acid damage?  Corrin gave him an extra save with Divine Mettle when he revived him and he passed that save.  Proof.

Erais suffered an OA bite, part of the bite’s effect is 5 ongoing acid damage. Evidently dragons no brushy-brushy the teeth.:( Guess I should have added some flavor text the effect of “as the dragon clamps down on Erias, the cleric feels the burning of the lizards deadly acid inflame and exasperate his wounds.” but posting from work makes me lazy lest my boss catch me.

And good idea on starting another OOC.  I will start another IC as soon as we are done with this combat which should be a rnd or 2.

I believe my turn was skipped in the bolding, but I’m pretty much just holding action/out of battle now anyway.

unless that’s why you skipped me, in which case, carry on LOL

Just a note / heads up / notice / public service announcement / etc.

I am going on vacation this friday (4/18) and will not be around a computer until 4/25.  Not sure how you all want to handle skamos (he can PC by someone else here, perhaps by someone spying on the action, NPC by DM rule) just let me know.  Figure I’d bring it up now and solve it before I actually leave.

We will figure it out, there is really only 1 battle left in the module.

You all got pretty lucky.  the way the dragon works, his breath “recharges” on a d6 roll of 5-6… I never rolled over a 2!  that is why he never tried to nail the guys in the tunnel as you ran away.  I think the plethora of 20s you got on your dailys was offset by not making your saves.smile

I did not have the hobgobs come in bc I wanted to see how running a dragon was.  Plus since this is a 1 off there was really no reason to TPK you other than bc it would have been fun.smile

Any questions?

So, what’s the program, gentlemen? Do you want to rest a bit and go after the hobgoblins? Go back and tackle the dragon? Or report back to the village and get a partial reward? I mean we did kill the kobolds after all, except that rat Meepo. But if we said we would stop the raiding, well, they need to hire more adventurers for that. But they definitely need to know what they are up against. Might just be easier to move the village. smile

My take...let’s find out what we have left in terms of resources after I’m done healing the party up.  If we still have a surge or two left in each of us, then we can probably take at least one more batch of hobgoblins...we should have our milestone now, so we should all have action points back...even without our dailies, we should be able to take a room of hobgoblins or two.

Under no circumstances do we want to come anywhere near that dragon again.  I’m not sure we could take the fool thing even at full health, full preparedness, and in completely prepped condition.  Seriously, it’s a NASTY piece of work.

Hmm...maybe if we kill enough hobgoblins, we’ll level up first?

That’s a classic!

AD&D 2nd edition (with which I started and which I DMed first):
Hrhm… I just need a bunch of kobolds to level… DM? We want to fight some kobolds.

Different situation than what you are in though. There weren’t any kobolds near - they just took an easy monster to figure out the XP they needed… well, we were teens back then. It was silly, but fun. wink

...

And now I feel old. Especially since I’m turning 30 this weekend.

...

And now I’ll get the heck out of your OOC.  blank stare

HEY!!! I’m 34 and I am not old! But I am getting there, man, am I getting there. Fortunately for me, I still look like I am in my mid to late twenties, so I can pretend I am still a young man.

OK, I had to go re examine your healing surges because I lost track during the dragon fight, luckly I still knew how many you had before the fight so it was not that hard, all HPs are up to date in the IC section and your healing surges are right.

Super Josh, how far are you willing to go with this?

I mean, this is an intro adventure, not an ongoing campaign. Do you want to continue or shall we leave it at that? I mean, we didn’t take on the hobgoblin room, the dragon was WAY too powerful for us, and all the kobolds are dead (except meepo, but his day is coming, mark my words). It isn’t very fair for us to force you to continue or even create new encounters like a full-fledged DM when this was supposed to be a mini-game to whet our appetites (and boy, did it ever! I can’t wait for June now). So if you want to call it here, that’s fine with me. Skamos is going on vay-cay on Friday anyway. But if YOU want to continue, I would love another chance at Meepo. Or the dragon. But mostly Meepo.

So let me know, are you willing to continue? (We could compromise and head back in to take on the hobgoblins and at least deprive Nightscale of some minions)
