Reworked some items.  Here’s a few screen shots.

Below are the symbols I’ve created for Fire, Lighting, Necrotic, and Radiant damage.  When I say created, I do mean that I drew them from scratch, so please forgive how rudimentary these are.

Working on Force and Acid last, but here are the symbols for Cold, Poison, Psychic, and Thunder.

I’m open to feedback.  For instance, I don’t really like the psychic, but I had a hard time conceptualizing it.

The attack block seems a bit crowded with both the attack bonus and the defense it targets in the same space.  Perhaps you should use that “spare” block for the targeted defense to space that out a bit.

I was thinking about that too.

Any other suggestions for icons?  Better ideas that what I have?

If you get hung up on any icon ideas, layout, etc. I would say to check out CCGs like Magic, Pokemon, etc. An eye for inspiration could be the Neverwinter Nights symbol, the Pokemon symbol, etc.

I have the icons for magic.  That’s where I got the idea for the skull and the flame.  They’re totally new drawings I did, but the Magic icons were the inspiration.

The NWN eye was the one I thought of.  I’ll work on that tomorrow.  My parents made a visit for the weekend and I haven’t been on the computer much this weekend.

There are some types in there that could give inspiration as needed. Like for instance, what about untyped damage? Will it be no picture?

My understanding was the all damage would have a type.  I may have to reread the PRRC if I read it wrong.  But, if untyped damage exists, I would say that there wouldn’t be a damage icon.

These are awesome Cam!  When 4e comes out, you should totally make up a complete set and host them here on Dragon Avenue!  I can even help making them if you have a PSD template.  I bet Chibby could really give these some visual love as well.

Thanks Jim.  I intend to do just that.  I have an XCF file, but I’ve switched over to using the Magic Set Editor because I find it simpler to assemble multiple cards that way.  I’ll update the XCF once I finish what I’m doing in MSE and then post the XCF here for people to tweak with “visual love.”

Newest damage icons - reworked poison and psychic.  Let me know what you think.

There is some artifacting - crap.  Didn’t show up on the XCF or the card itself.  I’ll tweak a little, but since they print so small, I’m not sure how much to worry about it.
