Reflex Mk1 and Reflex Mk2.  Discuss.

The second one is showing up weird here.  Just open it and try it.

Not sure if anyone’s still doing these, but I thought people might be interested in what I cobbled together.

For the heart, maybe starting the gradient in the upper right or left hand corner instead of in the middle?

For reflex, I like the winged foot.  Much more evocative than the plain one.

Perhaps the only precept taught me by Grandfather Wills that I have honored all my adult life is that profanity and obscenity entitle people who don’t want unpleasant information to close their eyes and ears to you.

Cool.  It looks better on the page too.  I did some cobbling of code, but I’ll wait for your version since it’s better.

Hirahito - that’s actually the card that first got me started with making the cards.  I liked that one and used parts of it as a model.  I think my favorite part is the range circle within the icon.  It’s a nice looking card.  My gripe with it has been my gripe since the beginning, and it’s not reflective of you so much as the general way people are making cards - copying and pasting from the books.

EDIT - This is an example based on the latest code and images.  I also used the D&DI;Compendium for some help rather than looking it up in my book.

If you want to stick with the “punctuation” concept for Reaction and Interrupt, I’d suggest the exclamation point (the existing icon) be used for the Reaction (a kind of “Hey!  I didn’t like that") and that a stylized carrot ("^") be used for Interrupt (a kind of “I’m going to sneak something in just before you do what you’re about to do").  If you want to go with the more abstract route, I’m not sure what to do..

Kinda new here (was around a long time ago). I really like the work that is being done on these cards. I have a suggestion for you two about Immediate Reaction and Immediate Interrupt. For Reaction, how about snapping fingers? For Interrupt, how about a hand in the stop/halt position?

I also used the D&DI;Compendium for some help rather than looking it up in my book.

Wait, is the Compendium up now?  About time.

Oh, and I’ve attached new versions of the MSE files.  These have the code for icon selection on defenses implemented but there are still placeholder blank images from most of the defenses (Fort and Will in icon only, all in icon with text).  Drop the actual images in to the directories to replace the place holder files and it should function perfectly.

Okay, I was rethinking the card back, to make it more mine and less someone else’s.  So, since I have some 3d rendering programs, I figured I’d render a red dragon and set it on a back drop.  I also have Three Dragon Ante, and liked that logo.  It’s not mine, so the legality issue rears it’s head, but I’ve done some significant derivations from the original.

First one is the Three Dragon Ante, second is my render.
Opinions, comments, etc?

This is purely my personal taste, but I really prefer iconography and calligraphy to realistic or 3-d renderings.  So, I would prefer the Three Dragon Ante card.  I find that icons and calligraphy preserve the Medieval-fantasy feel, for me at least.  Check out this dragon icon design: http://joshviers4.blogspot.com/2007/11/beowulf-icon-design.html

Something feels off about the 3D render one.  The dragon has almost a humanoid look to it, making it feel more like a devil than a dragon.  Perhaps it’s the pose?

The iconography one is nice, but like you said, it’s the Three Dragon Ante logo.

Why not use the actual 4e logo?

Yeah.  I noted that in my post too.  That’s why I didn’t want to use it.
