The card box is okay.  I think it would be better, though, if you could design the closure method differently.  Instead of having a slip on cover, maybe one side could open like the top of a chinese food take-out carton.  Then the dragon’s wings could wrap around the box onto the two top closure flaps.  I think it would make for a far cooler visual effect, but it might be a pain to design.

The defenses are added, and I’ve got the multiple defense and damage codes working.  While I was working over the weekend, however, I also noticed that we still need icons for Reaction and Interrupt.  Right now I’ve got the exclamation point being used as the Reaction for the icon only style and the rest are blanks.  I had previously suggested adding a kind of carrot for Interrupt, but Bill Clark suggested changing Interrupt to a stop hand and Reaction to snapping fingers (which I must say, I like these concepts better).

I also made a python program that strip mined Ander’s complete set for information and reformatted it to our style.  I’ve attached those set files for anyone who wants them.  Note: since I simply stripped the data out of another set, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the information.  I did do a once over to check for format issues, but if a card looked right, I didn’t check the information.

There is one problem card that still has some formatting issues to take care off: Prestidigitation.  The rules text for that card is simply too long.

Very cool BP.

Check the new card box design.

I’ll work on the last two icons.  I had a snapping fingers, but it didn’t come out well.  The stop hand is easy, but would a stop sign be better?  The hand I did looks a bit too much like the acid hand.

EDIT - Also, when I open these sets I’m getting a lot of errors.  None of the icons are opening up, etc.  I assume this is because I don’t have the latest game and style files.

Yeah, it’s probably due to changes to the style and game files.  Here are the most recent versions.  If you still have problems with these, let me know so that I can work them out.

Warlock set is presenting two errors - line 26 - unexpected key “damageicon” and line 28 unexpected key “defenseicon”

EDIT - Here’s the finger snap and the stop hand.

I know the snap looks odd, but I’ll be damned if I could get it to look better.

Does the snap icon look better with the surrounding space being negative instead of filled in (more like the stop icon next to it)?

With the snap, I think part of the problem with it is that it shows the hand in a pre-snap configuration, but is drawn in such a way as to indicate the sound having already occurred.  Also, it’s style is very different from what the other icons.  Maybe just stick with the exclamation point for reaction?

The stop hand looks good, but I’m having trouble downloading it.  I can’t get it to load in a separate window for some reason and attempts to download it directly from this thread end up ruining the transparency.

Edit: Figured out the download problem.  You must have been editing the post when I first loaded the page.

No.  I’ve tried multiple ways to fix the snap, but the detail just doesn’t work.  When put next to the other action icons, it just looks awful.  I think sticking with the exclamation point works best.

Weird about the stop hand.  I’ll link to it from my webspace, maybe that will help.  EDIT: Nevermind then.

Anyone try the card box yet?

I actually prefer the exclamation point, even if the snap icon were to be worked on. I would try the box, but my printer isn’t working at the moment.

Shouldn’t the stop hand be interrupt, not reaction?

I just checked the warlock file, and I’m not getting those errors when I open the file.  Lines 26 & 28 are going to be for the first card (Eyebite).  Does that card appear correctly?  In particular does the right defense and damage image show up when you open the file?

I got it working.  I must have been trying to use my old warlock set or something.  Works now.

Whats the stage of production on these cards? It seems as though the icons are finished (I could be wrong though) and it is only a matter of typing up powers for the classes. How long do you think (just roughly) until the finished product will be available and does anyone know a cheap way to print these?

Thanks to BP and his python programming, all the data is already mined and in place.  If you look at BP’s posts at the end of the last page and the beginning of this one, all the MSE data info is there.  BP was just trying to tweak a little more code.  Once he’s done that, I can post PDFs of what we have.  I could do it with what we have now, but I wanted to make sure BP was set with all the code.  Unless he’s done and the icons were it, in which case I’ll print everything to PDF tonight and host them at Mediafire for downloading.  Alternatively, I need to finally ask Jim for FTP access to the webspace to host them all here.

As for cheap printing - not so much.  Maybe try taking it to kinko’s.  They could even cut and laminate them for you.
