Well, after driving across two states, I’m pleased to announce that d20 Advanced has attracted the interest of a publisher.
Today, I drove down to Maryland to meet with Andre of Heritage Comics HSQ and a few other folks from HSQ. They’re a small, home-grown comic book publisher out of Maryland who I’d gotten in contact with about possibly working together. Little did I know that Andre and others with HSQ are also gamers, old-school and new-school alike. After reminiscing about favorite games, past and present, I showed the HSQ Crew where d20 Advanced stood, and spoke with them about trying to get some interior art for the rules, and things are looking good. Andre is also very interested in getting a fast-play version of the game put together so he can try to sell it at conventions (using characters from Heritage titles as the pre-gens).
What this means is that d20 Advanced is actually going to get some more exposure from another great bunch of gamers, as well as a little bit of art to spruce it up a little. I’m going to be making a few revisions with mistakes and typos I’ve found in the mean time while I work on the fast-play rules. Dead-tree copies of the rules are looking very likely, and a print-on-demand version is all but assured at this point.
However, don’t think for a second that I’ve forgotten you guys. Whatever the final copy looks like that goes off to be published, those of you who pre-ordered will be receiving a .pdf copy (hopefully with more artwork) free of charge. You liked it enough to buy it without art and with some typos, so the least I can do is make sure you guys can enjoy the gussied-up “final” version too.
