I believe I’ve talked about these, but I don’t think I ever posted the stats.  I know someone expressed interest from my Travels of Freyad Dryden story, but I never got around to this.

Anyway, here:

Ability Adjustment: +2 dex, -2 str
Small
Speed: 20 feet.
Low-light vision
+2 to climb, jump and move silently
+2 to Sleight of Hand checks to pick pockets
+4 to Listen checks
Keen Scent: Forest imps have a better sense of smell than humans and are more often able to distinguish one human from another by smell than by sight.  Forest imps that have a wisdom of 15 or higher can take scent as a feat.
Short Attention Span: Forest Imps suffer a -4 penalty to all search and concentration checks.
+2 to disable device checks
Change Self: Forest Imps have a magical ability to alter their appearance as per the spell change self, except that they cannot change their appearance to that of any specific person.
Weapon Familiarity: Chulink.  Forest Imps consider the chulink a simple weapon rather than an exotic weapon.
Base Height: Male 3’0”, Female 2’10” (+2d4 in.)
Base Weight: Male 40 lbs, Female 35 lbs (+ height mod x1 lbs)
Favored Class: Rogue.
Automatic Languages: Common, Imp and Home Region.
Forest Imps have a +1 level adjustment.

Once again, we come across a race of people whose name you could not hope to pronounce.  Athlk’khrra, they call themselves, after the name they give their patron goddess.  You could translate it to mean the “children of Arieth,” but I think the name we humans call them is most fitting: Forest Imps.
Forest Imps are strange creatures in many ways.  They are mischievous humanoids with distinctly vulpine features, including eyes, nose, and tail.  They have tan-red fur covering their bodies and light brown to rust-red hair and three horns sprout from their foreheads that grow to be four inches in size when they reach “adulthood.” Their eyes are bright blue or green and their ears are slightly larger and more pointed then that of humans.  They have large heads for their body size, which gives them a child-like appearance and from a distance you could almost mistake them for human children - almost.
They are named for their love of causing trouble.  Forest imps are always playing pranks and making mischief; whether by accident or design, they love to vex the big folk and plague them unceasingly.  It is my own personal belief that the reason they have such bizarre and impossible names is because they love to listen to the rest of us stumble as we try to pronounce them.
According to forest imp legends, their race began when their matron goddess, Arieth, the nine-tailed goddess of mirth, was having a lover’s spat with her lecherous husband, Hermes, and she took a mortal lover to make him jealous.  This may account for many of their cultural behaviors, such as not mating for life, the sexual dominance of the female of the species and their love of mischief.
They also love to travel, and often choose to join adventuring parties that interest them, which is how I met one of my current traveling companions, Sthlyrruth (or, “Sly”).  She just decided that she would follow me and, while I resisted at first, I found the effort to be a waste and accepted it as inevitable.  While a never-ending source of aggravation, Sly proves herself useful in more ways than I would’ve believed, for as talented as they are at getting into trouble, the are even more talented at getting out of it.  For some reason, they seem to always have just the right tool for the job, though the tool doesn’t usually belong to them.  I’ve found that if you keep a close eye on them, forest imps can prove to be valuable companions and wonderful friends.  They are loyal to the end and honest to a fault with those whom they trust.  If you can get beyond the childishness and incessant chatter, there’s not a better people on all the planet.

Chulink is a small wooden circle with three spikes on it that form a triangle on the outside.  Statistically, it’s more or less identical to the dagger, but it can be thrown up to twenty feet.

Why suffer from insanity when you could enjoy every minute of it?
