Having issues with the card back because apparently I didn’t save the Dungeons and Dragons logo I made.  Stupid, stupid.  I swear I saved that, but I’m not about to remake it today.

They’re called “Healing Surge” powers in the books, but I think “Surge” would be enough if that didn’t fit properly.  Check the fit and go from there.

Perhaps the only precept taught me by Grandfather Wills that I have honored all my adult life is that profanity and obscenity entitle people who don’t want unpleasant information to close their eyes and ears to you.

I’ll try it out, but I think that’s going to run into problems with the action icon.

Me too.  What about the colors?  That was also a concern to me because healing is traditionally either red or green in color and I didn’t want to tread too closely to encounter and at-will colors.

The color seems fine to me.

The words are definitely interfering with the action icon, however.  It’s only the “e” of surge, though, so maybe it’ll be enough if you left align the words in the box instead of centering them.

I hate to ask this but I am getting an error when I use some of the MSE files that have been updated the error says that I don’t have the updated D&D4e;.mse-game file.  The date on mine is 6-21 and it says I need one dated 7-11.  Do you all have that and if so can I get it please.

As a second thing.  I really want to be able to help more but I don’t get the way the files work.  How do you make heads or tails of the data files.

Basically I want to make a set of cards for when I DM that I will use for the monsters.  I want to be able to put all the creature data in the middle of the card and have the boxes on the outside blank for me to modify the stats in case I am moving the level up or down.  Honestly I am not sure if this is worth the effort but I won’t know till I try.  I have looked at the files in the creature set (editing friendly one) and I don’t get it.

Edit> Ok I was able to spend more time looking at the files.  I think I get it, but what are the numbers units of (points, pica, inches - I would guess not inches).  Is there a list of available commands and such, I see a lot of if - then statement type things, what other commands are available?

Have you read over the documentation at the MSE site?  It’s not great, but it’s the best there is at explaining MSE’s code system.

I’ll finish the consumables code tonight and upload a complete file set tomorrow.  That should eliminate compatibility errors.

Cam, have you had a chance to make a card back that would be compatible with the placement of an image?

I didn’t think it’d be possible to out do the current item card I’m doing. I like the one you just displayed better.

Is there some way to import into MSE from a text file or .csv?

Yes.  “mse-set” files are simply zip folders with an alternative extension.  To see what I mean, change the extension on any “mse-set” file to “zip” and then unzip it.  You’ll always see a file named “set” with no extension.  This is a text file that contains most of the card information.  If the card also has an associated image that was specially imported for it, said image will also be in the zip folder.  To import into MSE from a text file, you’ll need to match the format of the “set” file for a set in the style you’re interested in so that the field names match the appropriate style.  You then rename this file “set” and zip it up.

Indeed, this is how I converted Ander00’s set into our style.  I wrote a python script to do the heavy lifting, but it was simply a matter of finding the information in Ander00’s set and then reformating it to match our style.
