I’m with Darth Carnivore.  I’m a fan of 3.x and am fairly resistant to most of the changes that 4e brings.  I do like some of the changes to skills and combat but the character creation seems like a step backwards to me.  I could go more in depth but I feel like that topic is a dead horse at this point.

Pathfinder DOES look interesting.  Honestly, I’m hoping it gets a large backing and I think that some of the choices made surounding 4e are going to give it a good chance.  Honestly, there are still some 3e books that I would like but my $ has been put to other priorities lately.

i really love the 4e so far and now that i have my own hard copies i can investigate further. I was wondering what people think of pathfinder the 3.75 edition. so far from what i read they tried to add some depth to the game and ended up with rifts

knowing with out doing is still not knowing

After reading through 4e, I realized that they had somehow managed to make me feel satisfied with my purchase, and somehow, at the same time, hungry to buy more supplements. It kind of scares me.

While I dont “love” 4e, I will give it an honest shot.  Once I get back into the ‘swing’ of gaming regularly that is.

Priest of Asmodeus: I’ll let you know. I’m going to give Pathfinder a good look over.  Its bound to take me a while with current time constraints but what I have heard intrigues me and I’m excited about the people they have brought on to their staff.  I’m a big fan of Sean and Monte and their work.

Count me on purchasing Pathfinder and thats about it for the next year +. 4e feels too flat to purchase for me.

I have more fun making a story instead of a set of numbers. My play style and comments will reflect this.

I think I’ll buy 4e, but very sparingly. I’ll be going homebrew and have plenty of material I can convert.

I’m not buying anything, but largely because I don’t really have any gaming group to play it with :( I mean, there’s the guys I used to game with, but it’s been hard to find time to get together lately, you know how it goes. Anyway, in such circumstances, I tend to think it’s better to stick with what you’ve got already. Though of course there is a huge amount of curiosity that inclines me to thumb through 4E stuff, oh well, I wish I had a group to test it out in practice with, if only to see how it goes.

I like 4e.  I wish i had a few more options when playing a character but i am sure suppliments will add powers ad nauseum for us.

I have always liked a good setting to use with resource material so I loved Eberron, tolerated FR, and dug the others.  The way they released this has me actually wanting to make a homebrew pretty badly but I want to go about carefully and follow all the good design principles.  I will get Eberron when its out and mostly DDi follow the FR stuff for interest and just to see if there any cool ideas to steal.  I doubt I’ll fall for any other settings though unless I am with a group that dives right into it.  I can be peer pressured into most things.
