4e- New weapon: War maul

This is basically just a hand and a half war hammer I designed for my TWF dwarven ranger.  As such all I did was increase the damage die 1 a la the long sword/bastard sword combo and make it a superior weapon.  I just wanted some feedback before I present it to my DM. Thanks guys.

War Maul(superior Weapon)....+2....2d6....30GP....9lbs....Versatile

Basically I did not really want to gimp my ranger for RP reasons since the bastard sword is considered the end all be all for rangers I thought I would make a dwarven equivalent.

That looks pretty good to me.  I compare the bastard sword to the greatsword and I think it would be better to compare the war maul with the maul. I’d go with 2d6 instead of 1d12 and probably make it weigh 9lbs to put it right between warhammer and maul.  That makes it better than the maul.

Ahhh thanks for your suggestion Cameron.  That does indeed make more sense. I will amend my post and private notes.

Yes very nice, more please.  I found the weapons and armour section in hte PHB quite spartan - but I suppose that’s what splat books are for smile

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
